Conceptual shoot with the goal to capture the movements and postures of this ancient Indian dance form.
No photoshop or graphic work except editing in lightroom...
This is a single shot.
Two types of lighting was used.
LED continously light, left of the camera to light up the movement.
Canon 600 ex RT speed lite through an Octobox on the top right of the camera to freeze her movement.
The dancer practiced her movement to move across the frame and end her movement on the right side of the frame.
We used a predetermined exposure time to decide the amount of time she had to create the movement.
Being a trained dancer, she could move at a controlled speed.
At the end of her movement, the flash was set to fire before the second curtain closed.
